The note under 8.1.7 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations “Shipper’s Declaration forms conforming to the examples shown in the 59th edition of these Regulations may continue to be used until 31 December 2024” is deleted from the 2025 edition (without the ⨂). The title of signatory and place is no longer required (it has never been required in the ICAO TI).
Unfortunately, the notes in 8.1.6.13 (The title of the person signing the declaration is optional and may be left blank) and 8.1.6.14 (The place of signing the declaration is optional and may be left blank) remain. The inclusion of these two notes appears to be an oversight from IATA.
We are now seeing shipments being rejected through question 1 of the acceptance checklist “two copies in English and in the IATA FORMAT…”
This is not a reason to reject a dangerous goods shipment by air and has no impact on safety. A note from IATA extending the use of the examples in the 59th edition of the DGR would be beneficial to the shipping industry.
