In addition to the requirement to provide a copy of the test report for UN specification packaging, Brazil now requires a document proving that the “tests or qualifications” have been conducted for packages containing:
- Dangerous goods in Limited Quantities
- Dangerous goods in Excepted Quantities
- Biological Substances, Category B (UN3373)
The document (e.g. test report, certificate or any other document) must accompany the consignment on flights involving Brazil as the state of origin or destination. The validity of the document shall not exceed 3 years.
It would be interesting to see if any public consultation was conducted in Brazil and if there was much support for this within the dangerous goods supply chain.
Does this also apply to ID8000 Consumer Commodity?
What is bizarre, BRG-05 requires operators to verify, during the acceptance process, that the test report for UN specification packaging is present. This is not required for the new variation, as dangerous goods in excepted quantities and Biological Substances, Category B are not subject to the complete acceptance procedures. Will anyone even look at this document?
